Whenever things come to an end, we normally punctuate it with "Keep in touch." Sometimes half-heartedly or for mere posterity. Most of the times, well-meant but unfilled.
Just how many times have we acted on such promises? I'm guilty & would probably sentenced if such was a crime. I hate to think of it as an empty promised uttered only out of formality or courtesy. If it is, then it's a pathetic way of tying loose ends --much like a disgruntled lover ending a relationship with the promise to return. (Ha! What a weird simile!)
Isn't it ironic then that with dozens of means to communicate & with technology making it increasingly easy we still fail to keep such promises? What causes us to just go on with life & leave the past forgotten so easily?
Maybe it's just me & I think too much. Still, I hate empty promises.
(Or maybe I'm just reading too much of Daily OM. Hahaha!)
